Key Features
A vacation home spends most of its life empty, which is exactly when a burst pipe or a failed furnace does the most damage. CabinPulse watches it between visits and tells you the moment something changes.
Monitor for frozen pipes in winter and overheating in summer. Get alerts before damage occurs.
Know immediately when power fails at your vacation home so you can protect HVAC and appliances.
Prevent mold and moisture damage with humidity alerts when levels get too high.
Monitor indoor air quality to ensure your vacation home stays healthy between visits.
Cellular connectivity works without internet service. Perfect for seasonal properties without year-round WiFi.
Battery backup keeps monitoring active for up to 3 days during power outages.
What it watches
Every sensor you need is built right into CabinPulse — nothing to add, wire or install.
Get a text as soon as the temperature drops toward freezing, in time to do something before a pipe bursts.
Know the moment the power goes out. It is usually the first sign that something else is about to go wrong.
Damp builds into mould and mildew over a season. Catch it while it is still a small job.
Tracks CO2, VOCs and overall air quality, so you know when the air has gone bad in a closed-up building.
Cellular is included and unlimited, on all major networks worldwide. Your property needs no internet at all.
Smart thermostats and WiFi sensors go down with the router. CabinPulse has its own battery and cellular for two to three days.
The app
Every reading is saved, so you can check the full history any time from your phone or computer.
When something's wrong
There is an app, and it works on your phone, tablet or computer. But once your alerts are set up you don't need to open it — CabinPulse messages you when something changes.
Temperature alert — Emma Lake
Now 4.1°C, below your 5°C threshold. Tap to see the last 24 hours.
The same alert, both ways.
Nothing announces it. The house cools for however many days pass before somebody arrives, and in winter that is a plumbing bill rather than a service call.
Water escapes at mains pressure and does not stop. The difference between a repair and a rebuild is simply how many days it ran before anyone knew.
Shut up through a humid summer, a house holds the moisture that comes in. Mould does not need an event, only time and nobody looking.
A storm takes the ISP or the power, and the cameras and sensors you were relying on go with it — at the exact moment the house most needs watching.
The usual way to watch a vacation home remotely is to keep an internet connection running year-round and hang cameras or smart sensors off it.
| Internet plus smart sensors | CabinPulse | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | Internet or satellite, plus devices | $10–$14, nothing else |
| Works in a power cut | No — router and sensors both go | Yes, 2–3 day backup battery |
| Works if the ISP drops | No | Yes, independent cellular |
| Setup at the property | Router, accounts, hub, pairing | Plug it in |
| Portable to another place | Not really | Unplug, move, plug in |
The connection you are paying to keep on all winter is the one that fails first in a storm — which is the moment the house most needs watching.
CabinPulse is an unmonitored reporting tool. Nobody watches your readings and nobody is dispatched. It is not a security system, a fire alarm or a carbon monoxide detector, and it cannot shut off the water or turn the heat up. It tells you the conditions in the house between visits, so that somebody can act before the next one.

Yes! CabinPulse uses cellular connectivity, so you don't need WiFi or internet service at your property. Many customers save on monthly internet bills.
CabinPulse is perfect for seasonal properties. It monitors year-round on minimal power, alerting you to heating failures, power outages, and temperature drops that could freeze pipes.
CabinPulse runs silently in the background. Guests typically don't interact with it, but you maintain visibility into property conditions between rentals.
CabinPulse offers Fleet View for monitoring multiple properties from a single dashboard. Each property gets its own device and monitoring.
Yes. Unplug it, take it to another place, plug it back in. It finds the strongest cellular signal wherever it is, and you rename the location in your dashboard.
If the property has a usable cell signal from any major carrier, yes — it connects over LTE and falls back to 3G. If you are not sure what coverage you have, send us the location before ordering and we will check it.
$199 CAD once for the device, then $14 a month on a one-year term or $10 a month on three. Against a year-round internet or satellite bill kept on solely to watch an empty house, it is usually the cheaper of the two — and it keeps working when the power is out, which a router does not.
The backup battery runs the device for two to three days and it keeps reporting over cellular the whole time, so an outage is something you are told about rather than something that goes quiet. The battery recharges on its own when power returns.
